Movie- The LEGO Movie
Rating! (Out of 5)
Upside- Because movie theater popcorn is so good.
Downside- Very rarely are we disappointed in a yelp review or a Rotten Tomatoes rating.  This constitutes as that 1% of the time.  When I first saw the trailer, I thought to myself, wow, what a disappointment to Lego fans. The movie looked incredibly cheesy.  Then my husband just a few days ago checked how critics had liked the movie & to our surprise, the movie got incredible ratings.  We decided to give it a few days as we had thought it was a fluke, but up until Sunday morning, the movie was still doing great.  Long story short, I didn't enjoy the movie at all.  Maybe I have a different sense of humor than most, but I don't remember laughing at all during the movie.  Or maybe I had been expecting too much or something different than the storyline they came up with.  My husband's thoughts, since he is the original LEGO builder in our home?  He didn't like it either.

  1. That's too bad! Do you think kids would like it? I've got some Lego lovers in my house.

    1. From what I still see online, many people like. It also came in #1 this past weekend, beating out 'The Monuments Men.' This was just simply our experience. We hope you enjoy it if you decide to go.

And Thank You for stopping by. :)

  3. Oh no! So the "disappointing on so many levels" quote in the trailer was more accurate than they realized I guess?!?

  5. I don't understand why they put movies out geared towards kids toys and they can't go see it? Oh well... #SitsBlogging

  7. I actually really liked it but I have a pretty good tolerance for cheezy and I pretty much expected it to be cheezy.

Wow I am surprised! That is such a bummer. There were so many little kids at the movies when I went on Sunday to see The Monuments Men.

  10. I've heard it was good, too, but, honestly, I don't think I would like it either. Looks boring. Maybe more for boys?? #SITSBlogging

  11. We couldn't make either of the dates we had passes for the premiere or preview. I was afraid to take my 2 year old, anyway, since he's never done a movie theatre movie. I was still thinking of going with him, for a matinee or something. I heard that people thought it was good! Maybe the kiddos will like it... #SITSBlogging

  18. What about for kids? Do you think kids who are really into legos would enjoy it? I've been trying to decide if I should take my kids to see it or not. Stopping by from the SITS Girls Comment Love Tribe! ~Krissa (http://www.morethanmundane.com)

  20. I really had no high hopes for this movie either, and you totally supported that. My kiddos are too young for it anyway (1 and 2), but I remember watching the trailer and thinking it looked pretty dull. Stopping by from SITS!

  23. Hmm, mixed reviews. I was looking forward to seeing it (my daughter has no interest) so I'll just wait for the DVD to come out. I'm into cheesy though...so I may like it. ;)

  28. Love your idea of reviewing Movies on Monday's. I did not like the Lego trailer and lucky for me my kids are grown and I have no reason to see the Lego movie. I appreciate your honest review of the film.
